CodeCats is a non-profit, student-led initiative which helps students — and particularly women — to develop skills that are required to succeed in today’s digital world.
Technical skills like programming are becoming increasingly important and will be a requirement for a lot of jobs in the twenty-first century. However, a large proportion of students without an academic background in STEM subjects (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) will be left behind in this development. CodeCats aims towards closing the education gap and to help interested students to develop the talents which are necessary in the digital age.
In particular, CodeCats inspires women to take on careers in the technology industry by providing them with knowledge to excel in this area. We want to support women to actively take part in the tech industry, where females have long been underrepresented.
