We are from the stem cell lab in Innsbruck (Division for Genomics, Stem Cell Biology and Regenerative Medicine) and want to introduce you into the exciting world of stem cell research and regenerative medicine.
Prof. Frank Edenhofer, who is the leader of this lab, developed a method to directly convert skin (fibroblast) to neuronal stem cells (called induced neural stem cells or iNSC). iNSC be used as in vitro models to better understand some neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's Disease and Parkinson's Disease.
Hopefully, in the future, new strategies to cure these diseases can be achieved, but we have to work together...students, professors, scientists,...
